All Metrics
TextScore checks 12 metrics on every piece of content you analyze. Each metric targets a specific dimension of writing quality, platform compliance, or distribution risk. Click any metric below to see exactly how it works.
Readability Score
Measures how easily your audience can absorb your text on first pass. Uses the Flesch Reading Ease formula to map your writing to a grade level. Higher scores mean easier reading. Targets vary by platform - X rewards simplicity, Medium tolerates more complexity.
Passive Voice Detection
Identifies sentences where the subject receives the action instead of performing it. Passive voice hides the actor, adds words, and weakens your message. Your score reflects the percentage of sentences that contain passive constructions.
Link Security Analysis
Scans every URL in your text for phishing patterns, suspicious redirects, risky TLDs, and homograph attacks. A single bad link can get your entire post filtered. TextScore gives you a per-link safety breakdown.
Spam Filter Analysis
Runs the same pattern checks that major platforms use to detect spam. Covers excessive punctuation, ALL CAPS, promotional language triggers, and formatting abuse. Your spam score shows how likely automated systems are to flag your content.
Forbidden Keywords
Checks your text against known trigger lists that cause automatic content review or suppression. Some words get posts hidden instantly. Others add weight to a cumulative risk score. TextScore shows you which words to rephrase and suggests alternatives.
Content Quality Score
Evaluates three dimensions of writing quality: sentence variety, vocabulary richness (type-token ratio), and structural coherence. These three dimensions combine into a single composite score that reflects how polished your writing reads.
Sentiment Analysis
Reads the emotional tone of your text using the VADER model, built for social media language. Scores range from -1.0 (most negative) to +1.0 (most positive). Extreme sentiment in either direction can reduce your content's distribution on most platforms.
Excessive Punctuation Detection
Catches repeated exclamation marks, stacked question marks, and decorative special characters. Repeated punctuation is one of the strongest spam signals platforms watch for. TextScore measures both the intensity and frequency of violations.
AI Writing Pattern Detection
Checks five dimensions that separate human writing from machine output: linguistic uniformity, vocabulary distribution, sentence structure patterns, hedging and qualifiers, and stylistic consistency. Platforms are increasingly penalizing detected AI content.
Capitalization Analysis
Measures your uppercase-to-lowercase ratio and flags ALL CAPS words, phrases, and sentences. Normal English text runs 3-8% capitalization. Anything above 20% triggers spam filters on most platforms.
Professionalism Score
Evaluates tone, formality, and context-appropriate language. Professionalism is not about being stiff - it is about matching your register to your platform. A Discord message and a LinkedIn post need different levels of formality. TextScore tells you if yours matches.
Word Count and Length
Maps your word count against platform-specific sweet spots. The same length might score Good for Medium and Poor for X. Includes character limits, optimal engagement ranges, and how length affects algorithmic distribution on each platform.
